Generative Engine Optimization That Makes You the Brand AI Engines Recommend
A growing share of buyers now ask a generative engine for a shortlist before they open a search results page. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot reply in a paragraph, name two or three brands, and the conversation moves on. Generative engine optimization is the work of becoming one of the names in that paragraph: content a language model can parse and quote, an entity it can verify across the web, and a footprint it keeps meeting.
We deliver it from Noida for companies in India and the United States, inside the same programme as the classic SEO your site already depends on. Rankings still matter. This is the layer that sits on top of them.

We run a fixed set of buyer prompts through five generative engines, record which brands each one names and why, and send you the baseline with the first three fixes.
The discipline
What is generative engine optimization?
Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the practice of shaping how a brand is represented by AI systems that write answers rather than list links. A model composes its reply from what it learned in training, what it retrieves from the live web at the moment of the question, and how confidently it can tie each claim to a named entity. GEO works on all three, so the answer includes you, describes you accurately and recommends you for the right reasons.
It does not replace SEO. Search indexes still power the retrieval step most engines rely on, and a page that cannot rank is usually a page that cannot be retrieved either. What GEO adds is coverage for the questions that are now answered without a click, where the model speaks for you whether or not you have prepared it to. Our AI SEO programme runs both disciplines together; this page explains the GEO half, and the answer engine optimization page covers the answer surfaces inside search itself.
Content structured for language models
Models lift passages, not pages. We write and restructure so that every section opens with a complete, self-contained claim, carries the brand and the context inside it, and can be quoted without losing its meaning. Tables, definitions and labelled comparisons do more work here than narrative.
Entity-level brand authority
An engine recommends what it can verify. We make sure your organisation, products, people and locations are described consistently on your site, in structured data and across the third-party sources models cross-check, so the brand resolves to one confident entity rather than several vague ones.
Prompt-matched content architecture
Buyers ask engines in full sentences with constraints attached: budget, region, use case, alternatives. We map those prompts, and the sub-questions engines break them into, and build a content plan in which each one has a page or a passage that answers it directly.
Citation and mention intelligence
You cannot manage a channel you cannot see. We run a fixed prompt set across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot every month, record which brands and sources each engine uses, and turn the pattern into the next month's priorities.
Four pillars, one outcome: when a buyer asks a generative engine what to use, your brand is in the answer, described correctly, with a reason attached.
The symptoms
Why brands that publish constantly are still invisible to AI
The companies that come to us for GEO usually have an active content team and a healthy Google presence. These are the problems we find when we run their buyers' prompts.
Publishing a lot but never cited
Volume is not the same as citability. Blog posts that circle a topic for six paragraphs before committing to an answer, and product pages written in adjectives, give a model nothing it can lift cleanly. Competitors with a fraction of the content get cited because their pages state things plainly.
Analytics is blind to AI-driven demand
Most mentions inside a generated answer carry no link, so the demand they create shows up as direct visits, branded searches and buyers who mention an assistant on a sales call. Without a citation record beside your analytics, the channel looks like noise and gets no budget.
Keyword strategy fails against query decomposition
A keyword plan targets one phrase per page. Engines take a single prompt, break it into several underlying searches, and assemble the answer from whichever sources cover each fragment best. A site built around head terms leaves most of those fragments unanswered.
Competitors are named instead of you
When an engine consistently recommends three rivals for prompts you should own, it is not random. They are easier to retrieve, easier to quote and better corroborated by reviews, directories and press. Each of those is fixable, and each is measurable once you start tracking.
What we do
The full generative engine optimization service
Eight workstreams that run as one programme. The first and the last give you the measurement; the six between them move the numbers.
AI readiness audit & benchmark
We check whether each priority page can be retrieved, parsed and quoted by a language model, score it against the pages engines currently cite for your prompts, and record who is named today as the baseline for everything that follows.
LLM citation monitoring
A fixed set of buyer prompts run monthly across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot under consistent conditions. We log every brand, source and page each engine uses, then compare your share against named competitors.
Prompt & query strategy
We build the prompt library your buyers actually use, decompose each prompt into the sub-questions engines search for, and map every one to an existing page, a page to fix or a page to create. This replaces the keyword list as the content plan.
AI-optimised content structuring
Rewrites and new pages built passage-first: a direct answer under each heading, definitions and comparisons in tables, claims with the brand and the context inside the sentence, and no dependence on what came earlier on the page.
Schema & structured data
Organization, Service, Product, FAQPage, Article and Person markup, validated and kept in step with the copy, so entities are unambiguous and the relationships between your brand, its offerings and its people are machine-readable.
Authority & citation building
Digital PR, expert commentary, directory and review profiles, and third-party mentions in the places engines already trust for your category. The aim is corroboration: independent sources saying the same things your site says.
AI crawler access & llms.txt
We audit robots.txt, CDN and firewall rules for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended and PerplexityBot, decide deliberately which to allow, and publish an llms.txt file that points models to your canonical pages.
Reporting & citation share
One monthly report: citation share by prompt group and engine, the pages that earned mentions, competitor movement, AI referral traffic and branded search, and the shortlist of actions for the next cycle.
The process
How a GEO engagement runs
Four phases in a fixed order. Discovery tells us what the engines see, the framework decides what to change and in what sequence, execution ships it, and monitoring tells us what moved. The first three phases typically fill the first quarter; the fourth continues for as long as you want the channel managed.
Discovery & audit
We agree the prompt set with you, run it across five engines to capture the baseline, audit crawler access, rendering, schema and content structure on the priority pages, and talk to your sales team so the prompts reflect how buyers really ask.
Strategic framework
A platform-specific plan that says what each engine rewards and which pages target it, a schema blueprint for the entities on your site, and an entity map listing every place your brand must be described consistently off-site.
Execution & optimisation
Access fixes and llms.txt first, then structured data, then content restructuring and new pages in prompt-priority order, with the authority and citation work running alongside from the second month.
Monitoring & refinement
The prompt set re-runs every month. Gains are locked in, losses are traced to their cause, and the findings reorder the content and authority queues, so the programme learns from the engines rather than from assumptions.
Why Web Spider Solutions
GEO built as a discipline, not a bolt-on
We have run SEO programmes for years, and we built our GEO practice from the ground up rather than renaming what we already did.
GEO-native playbooks
Our playbooks were written for how language models retrieve and quote, not adapted from a keyword checklist. Passage structure, entity consistency and corroboration sit at the centre of the work rather than being added at the end.
Decisions from citation data
Every recommendation traces back to a prompt we ran and an answer we recorded. When we say a page needs restructuring, it is because an engine chose a competitor's page for that question, and we can show you both.
SEO and GEO as one system
The same team runs both on one roadmap, so a change made for citations never costs you rankings, and the reverse. See how the two fit together on our AI SEO services page.
Tactics tuned per platform
ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity each retrieve and cite differently, so we keep a page and a playbook for each: ChatGPT SEO, Gemini SEO, Claude SEO and Perplexity SEO.
Transparent monthly reporting
One report a month, in plain language, showing what we did, what the engines now say and what we plan next. You see the raw prompt log as well as the summary.
India-based, serving India and the US
We work from Noida with clients across India and the United States, which gives you senior attention at a sensible cost and a team at work while buyers in either market are asking questions.

Ask us something elseWhat is generative engine optimization?
Generative engine optimization is the practice of making a brand visible, accurate and recommendable inside answers written by AI systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot. It combines content structured for language models, consistent entity signals on and off your site, deliberate crawler access, and ongoing measurement of which brands the engines actually name.
How is GEO different from SEO?
SEO earns a position in a list of links; GEO earns a mention inside a composed answer. The two share foundations, because most engines retrieve from the live web and lean on search indexes to do it, but they judge pages differently. SEO rewards the page that best matches a query overall; GEO rewards a passage that can be lifted, attributed and corroborated.
How is GEO different from answer engine optimization (AEO)?
Answer engine optimization targets the answer surfaces inside search itself: featured snippets, People Also Ask, voice assistants and Google AI Overviews. GEO targets mentions inside generated chat answers on platforms such as ChatGPT and Perplexity, where there may be no link at all. Much of the content work overlaps, but the measurement and the platform tactics differ, which is why we keep a separate answer engine optimization service.
How long does GEO take to show results?
It depends on where you start. Crawler access and schema changes are usually reflected once the engines recrawl, which can be a matter of weeks. Content restructuring tends to show in the citation logs over the following two or three months. Off-site corroboration is the slowest signal and keeps building after that. We report against your baseline every month, so you see the direction early.
Which platforms do you optimise for?
ChatGPT, Gemini (including AI Overviews and AI Mode), Claude, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot are the five we monitor as standard. Each currently has its own retrieval behaviour and its own crawler, and the platform pages below describe the differences. If your buyers use a platform outside this set, we add it to the prompt set.
Is GEO only for technology brands?
No. The people asking generative engines for recommendations include someone choosing a clinic, a law firm, a manufacturer, a school or a property developer. Any category where a buyer asks which option to choose is being answered by these engines today, and the brands named are the ones that prepared for it.
How do you measure success?
The primary measure is citation share: for a fixed set of prompts run monthly under the same conditions, how often each engine names you against named competitors, and which of your pages it uses. Alongside that we track AI referral traffic where links exist, branded search volume and direct visits, because most mentions carry no link and the demand they create appears elsewhere.
What does GEO cost, and what happens if we do nothing?
Every engagement is scoped from the audit and quoted individually, because the size of the site, the number of prompts that matter and the strength of your existing footprint all change the work. The cost of waiting is quieter: the engines are already answering your buyers' questions, and each month the brands they name become harder to displace as their citations compound.
